Energy storage is fundamental to every electronic device. Traditional rigid batteries, while effective, limit the design and functionality of modern devices. In contrast, flexible batteries can conform to various shapes and withstand being twisted or bent without losing functionality, making them ideal for use from wearable electronics and smart clothing to rollable solar panels and beyond.
Despite their potential, flexible batteries remain primarily within the realm of research rather than commercial availability. The high manufacturing costs and low energy density are significant barriers that have prevented these advanced batteries from entering the mainstream market.
Through our patentable manufacturing process, we have developed the scaffold for a flexible conductive electrode, aiming to eliminate the metal foil typically used in the traditional slurry casting process of battery manufacturing. Our freestanding flexible batteries promise to reduce production resources while enhancing performance. This has the potential to produce scalable, cost-effective flexible batteries. E-DN is a step toward a future where energy density and flexibility coexist, powering the next generation of electronic devices.
